Musandam Authority Evaluates Key Infrastructure and Tourism Initiatives

The Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate convened for its sixth meeting of 2026 in Khasab, under the leadership of His Excellency Faisal bin Hamoud Al Busaidi. This meeting focused on various essential development projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, tourism amenities, and public services in the area.

Council members reviewed updates on previously discussed issues and considered new proposals aimed at fostering economic growth and improving residents' living conditions. A key agenda item was the redevelopment of the historic Al Hala Market in Khasab, which seeks to maintain cultural heritage while opening new business avenues.

Concerns over the availability and costs of animal feed in the governorate were also addressed. The council explored strategies to enhance supply chains, making affordable resources more accessible to livestock owners and supporting Musandam’s rural economy.

A considerable focus of the session was on infrastructure initiatives. Plans to develop Bukha into a more cohesive urban area were reviewed, alongside improvements to Madha’s agricultural zone, which aims to boost productivity and attract further investments.

Another important discussion revolved around a proposed dual carriageway connecting Qurun Al-Sayd and Khub Al-Shamsi in Dibba. This expansion is expected to enhance transport efficiency, minimize travel times, and improve road safety for users on this crucial route.

Tourism enhancement was also a notable point of discussion, with council members considering upgrades for beach umbrellas at Qadi Beach. This initiative intends to better visitor facilities, elevate the aesthetic appeal of the beach, and foster a more inviting recreational space for both tourists and locals.

The meeting concluded with a discussion on social and environmental challenges in the region, including the growing number of trucks in Khasab. Emphasizing sustainable development, council members reiterated the need to implement effective solutions and track recommendations to bolster public services for the future growth of Musandam Governorate.
