Tragic Accident on Emirates Road Claims Lives of 7 Indian Workers

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

On Monday, a tragic incident on Emirates Road in Dubai resulted in the deaths of seven Indian workers and injuries to nine others, as reported by Dubai Police.

According to preliminary investigations, a truck had come to a sudden halt on the road due to a mechanical failure, leading a minibus transporting workers to crash into its rear.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, the Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, noted that initial assessments suggest the minibus driver may have failed to keep a proper distance and lacked attentiveness to road conditions.

The impact caused seven fatalities, while nine individuals sustained injuries; five of those were critically hurt, and four had moderate injuries. Prompt medical attention was given as all the injured were swiftly taken to local hospitals.

The Indian Consulate in Dubai expressed profound grief over the tragedy and is collaborating with local authorities to offer necessary support to the victims and their families.

Officials from the consulate visited the injured at the hospital, offering their condolences to the bereaved families and wishing a quick recovery for the injured.

Dubai Police dispatched specialists from the Traffic Accident Investigation Section to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Traffic patrol units were deployed to manage flow around the scene, secure the area, and facilitate emergency vehicle access. Additionally, efforts were made to clear the damaged vehicles to restore normal traffic operations.

The investigation into the accident remains active.
