The final match featured Al Obaidli contending with Poland's Michal Szubarczyk, an incredibly tough adversary. After an exhaustive six hours of intense gameplay, Al Obaidli fell short, losing with a score of 2-5. Both players exhibited exemplary prowess throughout the tournament, winning all their respective matches leading up to this decisive event.
Szubarczyk displayed extraordinary strategic play, coming from behind to clinch the world championship title. This final underscored the tournament's competitive spirit, with both finalists investing significant effort and tactical maneuvering over the six-hour battle.
Al Obaidli’s path to the finals included a nail-biting 4-3 victory against Singapore’s champion in the round of 16. Such pivotal wins not only built his confidence but also proved his ability to stay composed under pressure against world-class players.
The championship itself was a significant global event, bringing together 90 competitors from 27 countries. After the preliminary rounds, 16 players progressed to meet the world’s top 32 in the main draw, creating a fiercely competitive atmosphere that challenged every participant's abilities.
