Tragic Death of Indian Man at Phuket Music Festival Raises Concerns

Post by : Mina Rahman

In a bewildering incident, a 28-year-old Indian national lost his life during the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Phuket, Thailand, on January 18. The shocking event has left festival attendees and the local community reeling.

The deceased, identified as Jain Saksham, was part of the crowd at this three-day international music festival in Cherng Talay. Following the event, he reportedly appeared disoriented, climbing onto a parked pickup truck and behaving erratically, which included damaging several vehicles on Bandon-Choeng Thale Road.

Upon noticing his unusual conduct, emergency services were summoned, and Saksham was transported to Thalang Hospital. Unfortunately, upon arrival, he was found to be in shock and quickly lost consciousness. Despite medical interventions, he was pronounced dead, with the specific cause of death still undetermined.

Authorities confirmed that there were no visible injuries or indications of foul play on his body. An autopsy has been mandated at Vachira Phuket Hospital to ascertain the reason behind this unforeseen death, while police are exploring other factors, including possible substance involvement or pre-existing health issues.

The Indian embassy is actively working with local officials to communicate with the deceased's family. Following the autopsy, arrangements will be made for his relatives to retrieve his body for religious ceremonies.

This tragic occurrence has sparked serious discussions regarding safety protocols at large events, emphasizing the importance of being vigilant during public gatherings.
