Authorized by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the much-anticipated second iteration of the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup (Telwah) is scheduled to commence on January 12 at the Lahbab Track within the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center in Dubai.
This exciting championship will feature a 400-metre race distance, building on the impressive success of its inaugural edition last year, which saw significant participation, elevated technical standards, and thrilling displays from professional falconers.
The Fazza Falcons Racing Cup was initiated to honor the unwavering commitment of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in promoting falconry racing. The event seeks to spotlight leading falconers and create a highly competitive environment with substantial rewards.
On January 12, the Public Category (Owners – Open) competitions will take place, while races for the Sheikh Category are scheduled for January 17, encompassing six rounds.
To qualify for the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup, falcons in the Farkh category—including Jeer Shaheen, Jeer Tibah, Pure Jeer, and Qarmousha—need to secure top three finishes in the Symbol and Golden Burqa rounds, in addition to winning the Cash rounds of the Fazza Championship for Falconry – Telwah.
The total prize purse for the championship is an impressive AED 2.8 million. Furthermore, the top three Farkh category falcons will secure spots in the concluding rounds of the Mohammed bin Rashid Falcons Cup.
His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan, Secretary General of both the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing and the UAE Falcons Federation, conveyed that the championship has swiftly established a strong reputation, deeply rooted in the UAE’s traditions and heritage. He noted that the first edition witnessed significant participation and engagement from the UAE’s leadership, showcasing their dedication to falconry as a vital national sport.
Additionally, Bin Markhan mentioned that all regulations and updates regarding the championship have been made available through the UAE Falcons Federation’s official social media channels, ensuring that participants and stakeholders receive timely and transparent information.
